A relative newcomer on the block in the Dallas DJ and house music scene, Paul Kraft has been spinning in a number of popular Dallas dance clubs, including Excuses (Club One), LIFT Lounge, The Brick, The Starlight Room, and his notorious after hours parties at Club Dallas, that never stop until well after the sun rises.
Paul had never spent much time on the dance floor until his partner, Mark Reavis, took him to The Brick for the first time a number of years ago. The music quickly became a passion that borders on obsession. Content at first to explore the dance and house music world from outside the DJ booth, Paul felt himself drawn to the energy of the DJ at whatever event they were at.
It was time to learn how to spin.
After acquiring some used equipment and learning the basics, Paul quickly realized that if he wanted to spin anywhere but his living room, it was going to take some very creative thinking, dedication, and a lot of practice. In 2006, Paul approached Club Dallas about producing and spinning after hours parties at the Club. Over time, they have evolved into very high production value events that regularly draw large crowds and loyal fans.
The visibility and experience Paul gained by spinning and producing after hours parties has led to many gigs in other clubs, as well as party and event promotion.
Paul Kraft Productions www.paulkraftproductions.com brings guest star DJ’s to Dallas from around the country for monthly main events, and tea dances. This September PKP will bring DJ Escape (with a special performance by Erika Jayne) for Dallas Pride 2009 to Excuses (Club One), and the legendary Lydia Prim to LIFT Lounge in Uptown.
Very comfortable spinning anything from tea to afterhours, Paul gravitates towards high energy happy house music, and lots of vocals. He also enjoys getting down and dirty in the deep hours before dawn.
His inspiring sets are very popular with the Dallas dance community.
